Lions Youth Brass was formed in 1989 taking its name from the Lions Clubs around South Cheshire who agreed to sponsor the band through annual donations and
still do to this day. They quickly established themselves as a leading Youth Brass Band winning a national title in 1994 and again in 1995. Since 1990 a Beginner and Junior Band have
provided a constant flow of young talent for the Youth Band by teaching 100’s of young people, often from scratch. Many past members have gone on to play with leading adult Bands.
Today the organisation supports around 120 young brass players aged 4 – 19 spread across the 3 bands who rehearse on Tuesday evenings in Sandbach, South Cheshire. In most cases instruments are loaned
free of charge and tuition is provided by a large team of conductors / tutors many of whom are past members of the organisation.
Aside from all the serious 'stuff' this site will hopefully give you an insight as to the superb social side of the Lions Youth Brass as well.
